Customer Database
Project goal was the transformation of an existing "flat-file" database solution ("Q&A Write") into a modern relational database system (RDBMS) with a high level of flexibility. The old system created in DOS-era was technically outdated and no support for newer operating systems was available.
- creation of specifications
- analysis of actual conditions, business processes, organization, business rules
- data model development, special import interface for data transfer from legacy system
- development of user interfaces according to corporate design standards
- reporting, label printing, mailing
- interfaces to external systems, import interface with intelligent duplicate detection, export interfaces to MS-Excel
- authorization system, logging of all database changes
- user and developer documentation
- user training and support
Client/Server system under MS-SQL Server 2000 and 5 desktop workstations under MS-Access 2002 / Windows XP. After 4 years migration to Office 2007 took place.
